Hi, I’m Caryn Rivers
I am an Educational Consultant, committed to academic access and excellence for every student.
I work for, with and aside families to find school choice opportunities in the best academic and developmental interest of the child.
I learn from observing dozens of classroom and out of school time interactions, referencing those experiences when families consider school placement, youth leadership development or special program admission.
I train students and families to find the balance between telling children what to do and know and allowing youth to lead our communities forward.
Through Pathfinder Placement, I develop and deliver youth leadership curricula and parent seminars, advise families through school choice transitions and support schools with school placement transition advising. I do this work with a team of like-minded, insightful educators.

20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Educated at The Episcopal Academy, Harvard University and The New School for Social Research, my career has included the selection of hundreds of promising students for academic enrichment and leadership development programs, placement guidance for families in college preparatory schools, and advocacy for diverse students across Philadelphia’s tri-state region. I have also taught hundreds of students as an adjunct professor of humanities. I have learned much about the importance of the right fit!
